The Clarkstown Police Department announced that Sgt. Christopher Bax’s recent accolade underscores his dedicated efforts in mental health advocacy within the community.

The department said that as a Crisis Intervention Team trainer, Bax has shown exemplary leadership and compassion, significantly impacting the lives of those affected by mental illness.

"His approach extends beyond training law enforcement officers; it involves engaging community stakeholders to promote alternative solutions to incarceration for individuals facing mental health challenges," the department said.
